To apply, complete the form below and be prepared to upload the following at the bottom of the page:

  • A one-page explanation of how this travel is a development opportunity for you as an educator (500 words or less, PDF format)
  • A completed Faculty Development Travel Grant Budget Sheet (download here)
Submit to Faculty/Chair Private Lesson Program: Learner Application 2024-2025

Application Deadline: May 31, 2024

Please review all information on the Lessons Program website and the Official Participant Guidelines prior to applying. 

Within the form below you will be asked to upload a well-written, one-page personal statement describing the following: 

  • Your goal for these lessons (What new skill or insight do you hope to learn?)
  • How you hope your requested instructor(s) will help you achieve this goal 
  • How you believe these lessons will enhance your own teaching (directly and/or indirectly)


All learner applications are reviewed after the deadline by a committee of Berklee faculty and staff members, and hours are awarded on a competitive basis. Factors that are taken into consideration include past participation, thoughtfulness, and a clear demonstration of how this would be a unique and new learning opportunity for the applicant. 

Learners will be notified by early June whether or not they have been awarded lesson hours for the upcoming year.

Please review all information sent to you in your proposal invitation email before proceeding. The deadline to submit your full  FLY proposal is Thursday, June 6, 2024 (11:59 p.m.).
