The Chair Recording Grant is awarded annually and is open to chairs and program directors at Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Recipients will be awarded up to $2,500 towards expenses related to a recording project and may use the studio and personnel of their choice (see eligible expenses below).
Guidelines
- The selection committee for this award is composed of grant winners from the previous cycle. All recipients must skip one award cycle before they are eligible to receive a Chair Recording Grant again.
- Awards are distributed as a reimbursement. Recipients must pay for all recording expenses in full and submit a request for reimbursement through Workday by May 15th, at the end of the award year. Please note: You may not use your Berklee-issued p-card for transactions related to your project.
- Recording projects must be completed between June 1 and May 15 of the following year. All awarded funds will expire at the end of the fiscal year.
Eligible expenses:
- Studio
- Personnel
- Equipment
- Travel, on a case-by-case basis

The 2024 Guilford Sound Recording Residency August 19-24 in Guilford, VT. All faculty, chairs, and deans from the College, Conservatory, and Valencia are eligible to apply.
If you are applying with a group, only one person from the group needs to complete this form. Please read the Guilford Sound Applicant Guidelines and Information, and confirm availability of all group members before submitting your application.
